My Memories of Albany Road
I knew a few of the people who lived in Albany Road,
mainly because I went to school with their children
Who remembers Wellington Place and the Cottages with
their wash-sheds outside, very Victorian slums
Who remembers the Angel Gang and the Wheeler Family
next door (they had a lovely daughter) also who
remembers Bertie Green, a beautiful football player
for Harnage Celtic. Wilson's Milk Dairy, with his old
two wheeled cart with the two churns on board and he
use to pour the milk into your jug. Jafrate's with
his marvellous ice cream cart which was to be found
at Kew Bridge corner and on his way home, a lot of
people used to buy a bowl full of ice-cream for
their evening meal (commonly known as Tea time
about 5pm)

Hello there,
I was very interested to find your website on Brentford.
My father's name is Bernard Daubney and he is the son
of William Daubney (the greengrocer in Albany Road). My
dad was born in Albany Road in 1936. I've printed off
some pages from your site and I will send them to him.
Very good job you have done on the site.
Joanne Daubney (aged 34)
