Market carts returning from the Kew Bridge Market
in 1892. The Salutation Inn shown on the left closed
c.1920 and the complete row of buildings was demolished.
The Salutation Almshouses on the right were built in 1794
and demolished in about 1946. My Aunt Liza Tew lived in
these almshouses opposite until she was moved to Strand
on the Green.

Today Brentford has become a much cleaner looking town,
the High Street has been widen in the progress of time
and everything is now more open than it was.
