Hi Peter & Dora,
Just a line hoping to find you both well, I wondered if you would like to update
your data on greet Road as My Mother and Father took the shop over in 1939 and
opened up as a Dining Rooms and they closed it in the fifties they served the
local community with breakfasts dinners and suppers through out the war years.
How many people remember the big bonfire in the middle of the road between
Bedford Road & Greet Road it actually burnt a hole in the road. LOL.

Best Regards
Betty

Hi Peter
A little more information, when Peter's Butler's sister Sue Young gave the shop up a fellow and his wife and two children took it over, Their names were Len and Audrey Davey, Thelma worked for them ex hours a week and I also used to help them out and would go to Cash and carry with him to help buy the stock for the shop, I do not know where they moved to though once Good Old Brentford was in for this Face lift I am not quiet sure that it was the face lift people wanted to see as time as gone by. But there we can not change the situation now. We had Brentford when it was a good working town also a better shopping place than it is today. As some would say they were the Good Old Days or days gone by.
Best Regards Betty

Hi Pete.
I knew Joyce and her Family very well, my mother and father had the dining rooms from 1939
plus the house also it came under 64 greet road next to Mr & Mrs burch who used to be the
sides man at St Georges Church, Also I knew your Mother, you lived in the row of houses just
past Davis's Garage, you had Marsh's Stores on the corner of George road and on the top end
of Netley with Ealing Road you had Wendy the ladies hairdresser, Proto's just across the way
The other End of Netley road at the Junction with Clayponds lane you had Draper's store's
provisions and Nunns the butcher I hope this is a little more help on the information of Brentford.
There was relations of Rowes the green grocers living in greet road as well, also there was Mr
& Mrs Collins who lived at no 50 who's Son Melvin is a councillor and Deputy mayor for hounslow
at this present time. If I think of anymore I will be in touch again, Gert and Don Luke were friends
of one of my older sister's and Jackie chapman was my Brother in law, who had three lovely
children, 2 sons and 1 Daughter.

Best Regards
Mrs Batty (nee Betty Harmer)
