| spirit of things with gusto back in 1962. A party of delighted Brentford pensioners joined in a sing-song of their favourite tunes with the Mayor of Brentford and Chiswick at the piano. The occasion was the annual Christmas party given to members of the Brentford branch of the National Federation of Old Age Pensioners Association at St Paul's Hall, Brentford. |

and grandfathers today - and no doubt, some still live in Brentford and Chiswick. This photo was given to the newspaper by Mr Alfred Ilbury, 66 of Chiswick and he emembers the day it was taken. One year, families in Cressage Road, Ealing and Pottery roads, Brentford gathered their children together for a group photo. This one was taken in 1921. |
| I do not know when but the man standing on the far right of the picture is my wife's grandad, John Chuter. Mr John Chuter is listed at 2 addresses, he lived at 14 Cressage Road (ref 1926 Directory] and then moved to 53 George Road in 1936. So I would think this is about 1938. This sort of Pub outings went on just before the War in 1939. |
