ST PATRICK'S DAY - Cead mile failte (A hundred thousand welcomes) "Top of the morning to you and the rest of the day to yourself." I could not let St Patrick's Day go by without a mention of this great day that the Irish all over the world celebrate. I was looking in an old tattered suitcase that used to belong to my late mum and I came across a interesting little note book that once belong to my old granny Maria Joyce and she had written a few Irish blessings and a few words about her father who was my great grandfather whose name was James Joyce (Unfortunately not the famous Author). My granny had written in her book. That me dad has had a wonderful day today celebrating St Patrick's Day me ma and myself had to drag him home from the pub with his shamrock in his lapel and a bottle of whiskey in his hand and shouting at the top of his voice all the way home "Good as drink is it ends in thirst." Me ma waiting patiently with the rolling pin to knock him on the head when he sobers up this happens every St Patrick's Day .My dad is a good man all the year round not touching a drop of any spirits and works very hard to put pennies on our table. Every St Patrick's Day I can remember my mother keeping up the tradition of boiled bacon and cabbage for dinner. I hope you will like sharing these few words that my granny had written in her notebook with me about St Patrick's Day. There is a lot more which I will share with you some other time. There is this Irish tale that tells how St Patrick used the three-leafed shamrock to explain The Trinity he used it in his many sermons to represent how the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit could all exits as separate elements of the same entity. All his followers adopted the custom of wearing a shamrock on his feast day. May St Patrick guard you wherever you go and guide you in whatever you do--- and may his loving protection be a blessing to you always. Four Leaf Clovers I know a place where the sun is like gold and the cherry blooms burst with snow and down underneath is the loveliest nook, where the four-leaf clovers grow One leaf is for hope and one for faith and one are for love you know But God put another in for luck if you search you will find where they grow. But you must have hope and you must have faith. You must love and be strong and so if you work, if you wait you will find the place where the four-leaf clovers grow. Slainte chugat (Good health to you) and Go mbeannai dia duit (May God bless you) On St Patrick's Day

I hope you enjoy the rest
