BOSTON MANOR HOUSE AND LAKE
AS IT WAS
and
AS IT IS NOW
Boston Manor House and the lake in the early
years of this century. The original house of
1622 extends from the right to the second gable.
The third gable was added in 1670 and the low
extension in the eighteenth century. It was
built in 1622 for Lady Mary Reade, a relative
by marriage to Sir Thomas Gresham. From 1670
to 1824 the house was owned by the Clitherow
family. It was used as a school in the years
1940 - 1961. Extensively restored in the early
1960's it is now owned by the borough of Hounslow
and leased to 'The Over Forties Association for
Women'

I had difficulty in finding a view of the
House from the lake, as the trees and bushes
have grown so much, however you can just see
a little bit of it behind the large tree. The
house itself is boarded up but it is open from
2pm each day.
