BACK LANE
AS IT WAS
and
AS IT IS NOW
Back Lane which ran from St. Paul's Road to the
Half Acre, 1905. It was also part of Troy Town,
which consisted of narrow alleyways and small
crowded house. Considered to be a slum, the last
cottages were demolished in 1958.

I remember going past the small houses above, on my
way to the Queens Hall cinema on saturday
mornings to watch the children's picture shows
- happy days. The photo now shows the back of
the supermarket.
