as they were
and the Residents
who lived in them





Roads of memories, are the roads that I used to go along, have pals
that used to live in them or people who have crossed my life path or
things have happened, the roads below show the people that lived in
these roads in the year 1936 (I was then 7 years old)



Click on the Road that you may remember and see how its changed

ALBANY ROAD - Rebuilt mainly on the south side looking from Ealing road
BEDFORD ROAD - gone, but not forgotten
BRAEMAR ROAD- few changes
BROOK ROAD SOUTH- few changes
BURFORD ROAD - has been rebuilt on south side
CHALLIS ROAD - do not know of any changes
CLAYPONDS LANE - south side rebuilt, north few changes
CLAYTON CRESCENT - I think its still the same as it was.
CLEMENTS PLACE - south side rebuilt, north few changes
CLIFDEN ROAD - the two churches, destroyed at both ends of road
CRESSAGE ROAD - like a puff of smoke, gone
DISTILLERY ROAD - now a block of flats - Distillery Walk
EALING ROAD - rebuilt on the right hand side looking from High St, towards Ealing
ENFIELD ROAD - I haven't been there for a long - any updates?
ENFIELD ROAD EAST - I haven't been there for a long - any updates?
GEORGE ROAD - sadly has disapeared, was between Netley & Greet roads
GREEN DRAGON LANE - area has been heavily built on
GREET ROAD - again this road has also gone
GROSVENOR ROAD - Hardly any change
HAM (The) - a lot of changes
HAMILTON ROAD - few changes
HARNAGE ROAD - now gone
HIGH STREET - still there, but nearly all rebuilt
JUNCTION ROAD - majority of this road is in Ealing.
KENLEY ROAD - just like Cressage Road
LATEWARD ROAD - still there
MAFEKING ROAD - still there
NETLEY ROAD - rebuilt, but kept name
NEW ROAD - few changes
NORTH ROAD - same as Pottery rd
POTTERY ROAD - still exist in name, has been rebuilt
WALNUT TREE ROAD - has been rebuilt
WHITESTILE ROAD - few changes
WINDMILL ROAD - changes, mainly south of Gt. West Rd

I have the Chiswick, Brentford & Gunnesbury Street Directory for 1936,
I also have the Ealing, Hanwell, Brentford and Southall Street Directory for 1926,
listing all the roads, terraces, avenues, gardens, yards, docks, market,
groves & cottages within these Towns.
