Decorating my Christmas tree I put the last decoration on the top of the Christmas tree a bright shining star.
And I thought of Martin Luther who one winter's night was walking home along a lonely road when, looking up he saw a bright star poised above a fir tree. It reminded him of the Star of Bethlehem, and when he got home he cut off the top of a tree, brought it into the house and fixed a candle to its topmost point.
Nowadays most of us have a Christmas tree in the house, and beautiful many of them are, but I never think they look complete without a star on top to remind us of the wonderful journey and the amazing sight at the end of it--- the Babe in the manger.
Martin Luther's moment of inspiration has brought joy into countless homes and hearts.
I hope you enjoy the rest
